1. Adequate height and weight

We know that your child’s height and weight is important to you. You can check with your pediatrician to ensure that it is normal for his/her age. It is best not to compare your child’s height with other children of similar age since it is normal for there to be height differences among children. You may wish to track your child’s height and weight as these are good indicators to ensure he/she is receiving the adequate amount of nutrients.

2. Strong bones

As your child grows, it is necessary that you ensure that he/she is consuming sufficient calcium, phosphorus and Vitamin D as these are all related to bone formation. In addition to NIDO Whole milk, you can give your child yogurt, cheese and green vegetables. NIDO Whole Milk is an excellent source of Calcium which is an integral part of ensuring that your child’s bones are growing strong and healthy.

3. Healthy skin

Healthy Skin is an important sign of good nutrition in children and Vitamin A supports the maintenance and repair of your child’s skin tissue. In addition to NIDO Whole Milk, good sources of vitamin A include vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli and pumpkin, and fruits such as papayas, peaches and mangos. It is also important to remember to always apply sunscreen on your child, and moderate the amount of time that he/she spends in the sun.

4. Good vision

A child’s ability to see clearly in dim and/or adjusting light is a sign of good nutrition. Vitamin A supports strong vision. In addition to NIDO Whole Milk, good sources of vitamin A include vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli and pumpkin, and fruits such as papayas, peaches and mangos. It is also important to have your child’s vision routinely evaluated when they visit the pediatrician’s office.

5. Muscle development

Muscle development is an important sign that your child is both well nourished and is exercising properly. NIDO Whole milk is a good source of protein, which is an important building block for muscle development. In addition to a balanced diet, it is great to encourage your child to play games that involve age appropriate exercise.

6. Healthy teeth

Be sure to observe your child when brushing his/her teeth to make sure that the technique he/she is using is in line with your Dentist’s recommendation. Experts advise that the appropriate time for brushing should be no less than 3 minutes. In addition to brushing, Vitamin D and Calcium are important for strong and healthy teeth. NIDO Whole Milk is an excellent source of both.

7. Shiny hair

Shiny hair is a sign of a well nourished child. Seafoods such as tuna and salmon support shinny hair because they are a good source of omega 3’s. Foods that contain Vitamin E and Iron also support shiny hair. Good sources of Vitamin E include green vegetables and nuts and good sources of Iron include lean meats, seafood and beans. It is also important to brush your child’s hair gently as this disperses the natural oils in his/her hair that add to a healthy shine.

8. Strong and healthy fingernails

Strong and healthy fingernails should appear uniform in color and free of discoloration. Dieticians recommend getting plenty of Vitamin A, D and Calcium to support strong and healthy nails. NIDO Whole Milk is a good source of Vitamin A and an excellent source of both Vitamin D and Calcium.

9. Good night sleep

Growing children need plenty of rest. Experts advise that your child sleep at least 8 hours a night to help with his/her physical and mental development. Proper rest is also very important for your child’s ability to concentrate and learn.

10. Being aware and active

Childhood is a critical stage for learning. Consider teaching another language, how to play an instrument or another hobby. Remember to let your child choose what he/she wants to learn. It is also important to never underestimate how valuable parental attention is for your child’s development.
